We support our scientists for any scientific computing needs they may have.
Our main service is the High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster we operate on campus. Beside its maintenance, we provide assistance to set up best practice solutions for scientific software, applications, and hardware. This includes also access to external resources, for example the Vienna Scientific Cluster, a supercomputer cluster dedicated to academic and research institutes in Austria and Europe.
Beyond that we also provide assistance to overcome your bioinformatics challenges, covering data analysis, consultancy, and development of tailor-made solutions.
Over and above, we aim to be the first point of contact for all members of IST Austria, which seek to make use of computing to enhance their scientific routines.
As a cluster user, you’re automatically subscribed to the mailinglist , if not please do so via: https://icp.ist.ac.at/manage/mailinglists/name/scicomp. SciComp will announce important information for cluster users (updates, new software, downtimes, etc.) via this list.
To communicate between cluster users and interested users, we created a channel on our chat-system: https://chat.ist.ac.at/channel/cluster_users, which can also be subscribed via email. Feel free to join and ask your questions/present your solution to the community.
