This article will help you to use Adobe products provided by IST Austria.

Adobe Remote Workstations

Note: Since Adobe changed the way it works with a Device-license, it is now necessary to have an Adobe account to work with these machines. If you currently do not have an account, please write us an e-mail to – we will create one for you! Otherwise you just need to sign in with your existing account.

If you request an account from us, the sign-in into that account will be via our Single-Sign-On System that everyone of you is familiar with!

For using Adobe products without the need to install them, we provide 8 virtual workstations, which you can book via: https://ppms.ist.ac.at/

Please navigate to https://ppms.ist.ac.at, select the Scientific Computing facility, and login with your IST credentials. If you experience issues logging in, please send us an email to .

Simply select an available virtual resource and book the time slots you need.

In every Booking-Overview are displayed instructions for how to connect to this specific machine. It is highly important to use the right hostname, i.e. AdobeVM0x.ist.local where X is a number from 1 to n corresponding to the virtual machine number. The booking is synchronized to the machine every 30 seconds. Thus, if it does not work at the first try, please wait 30 seconds and try again.

Afterwards, open your favorite Remote Desktop Client (like the one you use for WT10) and connect to that specific hostname. If you need the machine for a longer period than initially booked, please extend your booking in PPMS. Otherwise you will be logged off from the machine after a grace-period of 15 minutes.
